Stand-up comic in the city
Sidhuisms on the telly. Slapstick, sexist comedies on the big screen. Humour in Mumbai hardly breaks out your sunshine smile. Most times, you rely on your own wisecracks to get you through a long day.

Here comes stand-up comedian Danny Bhoy. Fresh from his six-month tour of New Zealand and Australia — he launched his first DVD at the Sydney Opera House last month — he’s here to woo you with his bag of original gags.
Last evening, our Trendy Giggler caught the first of the 31-year-old’s three shows in Mumbai. Hot, hip and highly hilarious, he had the audience in splits. And without resorting to husband-wife quips or toilet humour either. Mostly clean (except for the odd cuss word here and there), his comic repertoire draws from his travels and observations across the globe. Although Indo-Scottish by birth, he may forget to mention kilts, but he does the diss on everything else — from croissant-eating Frenchmen to kangaroos.
If good looks and GSOH are high on your list of must-have male traits, Danny Bhoy definitely makes the grade.
