Bengalooru Habba: Trendy top-picks for the week-long city fest

Some occasions call for a celebration. At other times, the celebration becomes the occasion. Like at the Bengalooru Habba, where there’s so much to see, do and feel. Because your time is precious and the traffic pernicious, our Trendy Culturista shortlists the venues you simply can’t ignore this week.

Bengalooru Habba Festival

Alliance Francaise: It’s all things jazz by bands like Global Unity, Gerard Machado’s, Brown Indian Band and Jazz Junction, Monday through Thursday, 7pm-9pm.

Palace Grounds: Six bands unspool over Wednesday and Thursday, beginning 7pm. Magnum acts Parikrama and Pentagram take the stage on Friday and Saturday respectively, while Sukhwinder Dard-e-Disco Singh opens Bollywood Nite on Saturday.

Chowdiah Hall: Trace the poignant journey of two soul mates in Love Letters, one of the longest-running English plays in India. If you want to be privy to Shernaz Patel and Rajit Kapur’s amazing chemistry, be there by 7pm, today.

Chitrakala Parishath: An arts and crafts fair from 11am-8pm, today and tomorrow. Check out the wares of 200-odd artisans from 21 Indian states and watch live performances. Special rural food complements the rustic ambience.
